Each Trek is built around a unique destination and hosted by trusted local partners who help shape the itinerary, activities, and learning opportunities. No two Treks are the same. Each Trek offers its own combination of guided experiences, hands‑on discovery, and opportunities to connect with fellow travelers. 

Treks, workshops and retreats are lead by professionals who are subject matter experts about the specific location and adventure. 

Vertical Space Treks are designed for a wide range of participants, from first‑time explorers to seasoned travelers. No prior drone, technology, or travel experience is required unless a specific trek description states otherwise. Our expert hosts take great care to ensure that every participant can engage at a pace and comfort level that feels right for them.

Each Trek includes clear guidance, supportive instruction, and optional participation in activities. Whether you’re eager to dive into hands‑on learning or prefer to observe certain moments, you’ll be fully supported throughout the experience.

Yes. We create custom experiences for corporate teams, nonprofits, educational institutions, and private groups. YES! We can work with you to develop a custom trek for a specific date or location. Several of our Trek hosts are available to travel a location to provide you with the ultimate TREK experience. 

Most Vertical Space Treks are co‑ed. However, the trip organizer may designate specific requirements for certain programs, including women‑only or specialized group treks. Any such requirements will be clearly noted in the program description. 

Each trek is different. Some may involve flying a drone and some may not. Each Trek outlines the required equipment for the Trek. For Treks with drone flying opportunities the Trek host may provide a a drone for individual or shared use during the Trek. Treks with drone flying activities will outline the availability of drones for the Trek.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended and may be required for certain destinations.

Because each trek is unique, refund and cancellation policies may vary by program. All refunds and cancellations are processed through each trek, and the specific policy for each trek is listed on its individual information and registration page. Please review those details carefully before booking.

A recommended packing list is provided for each trek and may include clothing, gear, and destination‑specific items. The local Trek host will generally offer to meet with the Trek participants to review Trek details.

We understand that privacy matters. During most Vertical Space Treks, photos and videos are captured to document the experience and support educational and promotional storytelling. We take great care to respect each participant’s comfort level and will make every reasonable effort to honor individual privacy preferences.

If you prefer not to appear in photos or videos, please notify us in writing before your trek so we can plan accordingly. While some group moments—such as wide aerial shots—may limit our ability to fully control who appears in frame, we will do our best to accommodate your request whenever possible.

For custom or private group treks, the photography and media policy is determined by the group organizer and may differ from our standard approach.

Generally additional nights at host lodging locations are dependent upon hotel availability. Participants often choose to arrive early or stay longer. Any additional travel arrangements including extra hotel nights are the participant’s responsibility.

Payment plan availability is determined by the price of the Trek and the amount of time before the TREK departure date. If a payment plan is offered for a specific trek, it will appear during checkout.

Deposits are typically refundable minus an administrative fee unless otherwise stated on the trek’s registration page. Please review the Refund & Cancellation Policy on each Trek information page before booking.

Gratuities are not included in the Trek price but are greatly appreciated by our local Trek hosts. The amount of the tip is at your discretion.
